Designed by Vittorio Nobili in the 1950s for Fratelli Tagliabue, this iconic Italian office chair combines sculptural elegance and modern functionality. Its distinctive curved molded plywood shell envelops the body with organic, refined lines, while the metal base provides lightness and stability. The “Medea” is one of the most recognized pieces of post-war Italian design and was awarded the Compasso d'Oro Prize in 1956, cementing Nobili as one of the pioneers of the expressive use of molded wood in Italy.
