In this third edition of THE CREATORS, we travel to Brussels to the studio of Camille Tan, an artist trained at l'École des Beaux-Arts in Rennes and the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, who for over fifteen years has been developing a practice that spans sculpture, design, and contemporary craftsmanship.
Each piece emerges from an intuitive assembly process, without prior sketches, where he perforates, polishes, and connects materials with metal rods until a precise and organic balance is achieved, leaving room for chance and movement.
Far from hiding the traces of time, Tan integrates cracks, erosions, and patinas as an essential part of the work, transforming each sculpture into a living and silent presence.
"My works inhabit a delicate point between stability and instability, lightness and weight. Suspended landscapes that dialogue with space and propose a unique view on beauty and the relationship between elements."
