"Giraffe à tablette" floor lamp, made of oak wood.

"The Giraffe on a Tablet" is one of Maison Rispal's most iconic biomorphic creations, along with the "Praying Mantis." Its origins were likely influenced by the German Dadaist sculptor Jean Arp, who lived in Clamart, near the home of Georges Léon Rispal, founder of Maison Rispal.

The Rispal family is a family of artists: Georgette Rispal became an operatic soprano, and music permeated her life. This light fixture, designed in 1952 by her brother, François Rispal, captures the modernist spirit of the era and evokes a certain musicality with its wooden structure sculpted in the shape of a harp, an instrument played by her sister, Georgette.

166cm high; 54cm long screen; 55.5cm deep table; 28.5cm long table.
