Set of two tables made of lava stone, with geometric motifs carved into the surface and filled with glass, set on a brushed steel frame and legs.

The Frères Cloutier, Robert and Jean Cloutier, were prominent figures in post-war French ceramics. They trained alongside some of the great names in French ceramics at the time: Robert worked with Georges Jouve and Jean with Michel Rivière, both later collaborating with Pol Chambost, before opening their own studio in Paris in 1955.

Their work is characterized by experimentation with materials, textures, and reliefs, with their lava stone pieces being especially renowned.
